Run for Rebecca .....
The inaugural 5K race,
"Run for Rebecca", was held on Saturday, November 14, 2009, to raise funds for the children of
Beat
The Drum Children's Home.
The race was a great success - with beautiful weather,
104 runners, and a large group of incredible volunteers.
A big thanks to everyone who participated and sponsored
this event.
We are especially grateful to
InComm,
one of the race sponsors - who was also represented by
about 25 runners and volunteers. Their support was
invaluable. Thanks to

Equipping Workers ..... Saving Lives
Partners for Care exists to provide hope and health for people in developing nations by working through the local church to empower and equip indigenous people to provide services which include; skilled nursing, social work, care for orphans and vulnerable children, HIV/AIDS counseling and testing, and a broad range of community health initiatives (including sanitation and prevention of TB, malaria, and illness from unclean drinking water).
Partners for Care employs Biblical principles to all activities, and will strive to develop and support methods of reaching people which are relevant to the cultures in which we serve.
Partners for Care is currently engaged in providing these services within the country of Kenya,
where we fund indigenous staff who are engaged full time in serving the social, medical and community health needs of their countrymen. The Partners for Care staff in the United States frequently travel to Kenya to recruit, train, mentor and organize the work being performed. Otherwise, the work performed by volunteers and directors (all presently unpaid) of Partners for Care is focused on fundraising, and networking to establish partnerships which advance the ability of Partners for Care to deliver meaningful public health initiatives in Kenya.
Partners for Care is especially focused on the HIV/AIDS
epidemic, providing HIV testing and counseling services,
education to minimize spread, and serving the needs of orphans
and vulnerable children affected by the disease.
Along with a nurse sponsorship program, Partners for Care regularly sends short-term mission teams
to work alongside the Kenyan Partners for Care supported nurses
and other staff to deliver care, conduct medical camps, and share the
good news of Christ.
