MAGGIE'S SCHOOL
In memory of Maggie McLeod, a beautiful, loving
young woman, a school has been built by her mother, Wink McLeod
for children who have no school, no teachers, no contact with
the outside world. This will all change for these children.
Maggie's School will reach these unreached
children.
Jesus said go to the ends of the earth and tell them of the
Gospel. This Christian School will do just that, reaching these
unreached children in the Turkana region of Kenya. No one knows
if one of these small children will grow up and change the
world.
On July 22, 2008 Maggie’s cousin David Moore and Aunt Connie cut the ribbon on Maggie’s School.
Maggie went to be with the Lord at age 19 but her memory lives in the hearts of those who love her
and now even in a far away village in Northwest Kenya. Her mother Wink McLeod built a school in
Maggie’s memory for children who had no school - no hope of learning to read even a bible.
Now hundreds of children will learn to read providing hope for their future.

After Maggie's death, her mother, Wink McLeod gathered poems written by her daughter and had them published in a book, "Beauty Scattered," titled for one of Maggie's poems which had deeply touched her mother's heart. For the opening of Maggie's School, Wink had the book translated into Swahili so that each student would be able to read the poems written by this young woman who they will never meet - this side of heaven - but who will be touching their lives through this school.
