I leave for Kenya today for a 2-week trip. I was asked by a dear friend what my goals are for this trip. I am answering her with this attached photo. My primary goal is to help our staff in Kenya with the water back pack program so women like the one in the photo from Kissi, Kenya don’t have to carry 50 pounds of unsafe water on their heads.
Traveling with me are Bridgette who is boldly delaying cancer treatment to see the staff, programs and people she loves, Ryan, Ohio State University student who is our intern and Meghan, incoming student at Emory’s public health program.
We will also be working to enhance our mhealth program, meeting with Mt. Kenya University and visiting our programs in Watamu including the Joe Beasley Center.
