Election update – Kenya

I have been following all week the presidential election in Kenya ensuring our staff kept safe. The voting was Tuesdayand the announcement was made late last night. The sitting President was reelected with  54% of the votes. The opposition received 44%.

There were many international observers including the Carter Center. All have declared the election was conducted fairly. The opposition has refused to accept the decision but the country is moving forward although there has been some outbursts of violence. The violence is contained to Mathare slum and Kisumu and observers say it is related more to criminal activity instead of political response.

Our staff have returned to work after traveling to their villages to vote. PFC will focus on what we do best – supporting our staff as they help their people change their lives.

Prayers for peace in Kenya 🇰🇪 were answered,

Connie
