Update from Bridgette

Bridgette Boylan, PFC board member,  came with me to Kenya this trip. Even in this time of insecurity in Kenya Bridgette made the decision to come with me. She comes to Kenya once a year to help the PFC staff – she just serves them doing whatever they need her to do. Below is Bridgette’s message to those who donate to Partners for Care because she asks them to donate. Her words are from her heart. “Every time I return to this country, I struggle with how to adequately describe the difference Partners For Care is making here. I want each of you to know how much your support, your gifts, your prayers have made here. How do I describe a beautiful 5 year old vibrant, healthy little girl named Yewlanda who runs circles around me now who was literally starving to death in the desert of Parkishon when we found her weighing less than 20 lbs. Or a little 3 year old boy named Adan whose feet were actually black with gangrene from sand fleas called jiggers that had embedded themselves deep into his feet when he and I first met. His little mouth was also black all around his lips-which I later discovered was from eating dirt to stay alive. Today he is jigger free, healthy and strong with a community of people who visit his family weekly to make sure he is strong and cared for. Or the 83 year old woman who walked several miles each week to attend our free literacy program…and wept with pride when she wrote her name for the very first time in her life.

All of these stories are possible because you helped- and allow me to be your hands and feet while here. There are hundreds of stories-amazing transformations…real change-one single person at a time. As I write this under my bed net tonight-a bed net, like many here now have because of your gifts, I am so grateful for the opportunity to serve here…so grateful for the opportunity to let you know that each one of us DOES make a difference in this world. So as we just reflected on another bountiful Thanksgiving for all the things we are grateful for-add the ability to help so many whom you may never meet over 10,000 miles away to your list.  God bless from Kenya.” Bridgette I feel the same way as Bridgette does about all of you who financially support the PFC team. You are a part of the change here in Kenya. Blessings, Connie
