Last night we visited our literacy program for the warriors at Parkishon. The number of students has more than doubled since my last visit! The four solar lights hang in the small classroom as over 40 moran sit crowded with some standing as there aren’t enough chairs as they listen to their teacher Stephen explain mathematics on the white board we bought him last time. They have progressed to 2nd grade already! So many very young girls who during the day watch the cows and at night come to learn. The prayer we prayed over them was that God would raise teachers, doctors and business people from this humble beginning of learning.
Pastor Hirbo and his staff are truly helping change the lives of some of the poorest of the poor and the lives of generations to come.
God does not discourage humble beginnings.
