The PFC team led by Anthony Mungai, Kiambu County Director, was in Ngecha-Tigoni ward of Limuru County where he educated 70 women from different women groups on the importance of safe water and trained them on how to use the water backpack. He emphasized on the importance of drinking safe water not only to them but to their children, families and the community at large, in order to eradicate the physical, psychological and financial stress that comes with water borne illnesses in the home. He distributed 20 water backpacks to the women and will be monitoring their use monthly.
The women were entirely grateful to PFC for the empowerment and vowed to use safe water from then henceforth.
